Seminar in Comparing Business Process Management Languages

ALT Linux and the Institute of Logic invite you to the next meeting of the "Free Software: Philosophy, Technology and Business" seminar. Andrei Mikheyev will make a presentation titled "Comparing Business Process Management Languages" in the Red Hall of the Russian Academy's of Sciences Institute of Philosophy on Wednesday, September 14 at 18:00. Main constructs of common business process management languages will be demonstrated using characteristic segments of business processes (WF patterns) as samples. Entrance by preliminary registration. Registration is free before or on September 13. Intensive Introduction to Linux OS course

Registration is open to the new intensive Introduction to Linux OS course, conducted by ALT Linux and the Moscow State Pedagogical University (MSPU). The course is 40 academic hours long and is intended for beginners and students of the intermediate level. The course examines Linux from the point of view of a user, an operator, a system administrator and a department head.

Its first products are the CM-SOHO Server and the CM-SOHO/Max Server, in which Veles Data Computer Center provides its CM-Computer hardware platform, while ALT Linux supplies the operating systems.

ALT Linux wins Ministry of Economic Development contest

A meeting of the contest subcommittee within Electronic Russia 2002-2010 federal program was held on April 14. At the meeting, which was dedicated to events conducted by Russia's Ministry of Economic Development as a part of Electronic Russia, ALT Linux was announced the winner of a contest held within this program earlier. The contest had four lots and involved 11 companies. ALT Linux won the first lot with the general topic of "Developing a Model of an Accounting System for the Results of Electronic Russia Projects Needed to Publish Them in Free Access". ALT Linux participates in OSFR conference and exhibit

ALT Linux has participated in Open Source Forum Russia, conducted in Moscow on April 27-29. The event consisted of a conference and an exhibit devoted to open source technology and Linux systems. ALT Linux made three presentations and demonstrated its standard open source solutions in the Open Source Live section, including office applications for Linux and Windows, workstation software and server solutions.
